“Stories make us more alive, more human, more courageous, more loving." — Madeleine L’Engle
What is your story as a teacher, a school leader, a community educator? What are its twists and turns, its large themes, conflicts, and surprise endings? And what is your institution’s story? What is your role in shaping it, and how are you telling it to the world? Please join us for an exploration of the importance of story in our educational journeys with time to write and share part of your own or your institution’s story.
Our afternoon together will begin with an exploration of the power of story to shape and give meaning to our work as educators and to the schools and organizations in which we work. Following this interactive framework, participants will have time for focused, individual writing with the support of guiding questions and the luxury of quiet, focused time in a beautiful setting. Those moved to share will be invited to read in a coffee house-style setting, and we will close with a brief collective reading. We can’t wait to honor your stories.
Reflect: Innovate: Act is a professional development series designed for all educators and is offered free of charge. The sessions take place in the Schoolhouse at Bosque School, and include delicious food and good coffee.
