Kundalini Yoga & Meditation for PTSD, Anxiety & Depression
Thursdays 6pm — 7:15pm
This class combines simple postures, meditations, pranayama (breath exercises) and deep relaxation. The intention of this series is to teach self-regulation and self-resiliency to help release stored trauma, relieve anxiety and feel some peace. All levels are welcome.
In a regular Kundalini Yoga teachers we use command language such as «lead with your heart center» or «do breath of fire for 3 minutes». When teaching people with PTSD it is most effective to include such phrases as notice, feel, allow, when you are ready, consider directing your attention to gently guide the student back to their awareness as it continues to deepen. Choice and control are key issues for trauma survivors and restoring their sense of self-efficacy — the belief that what you do makes a difference — is paramount.
This Class is every thursday and if you want to do the complete 8 week series these dates are the next start dates. You really can show up any week though.

Deva Khalsa is an Ayurvedic Health Practitioner, Clinical Herbalist and a 26 year veteran of teaching Kundalini Yoga. She currently teaches two weekly yoga classed at High Desert Yoga and has a detox/cleansing and Ayurvedic Health business in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.

$18 drop in for one class inc. tax
