Local band MOONSHINE BLIND joins
DIG DEEP and SADDLE OF SOUTHERN DARKNESS 2018 TOUR, MAY 25 — JUNE 10, 2018
Two hard-touring, road-tested bands — Dig Deep, from Wisconsin’s Northwoods, and Saddle of Southern Darkness, from the hills of Kentucky — come together this spring on a U.S. tour to promote their respective sophomore vinyl releases and join forces in a traveling collaboration of songwriting prowess, powerful chops, unhinged intensity, and recklessly good times.
Dig Deep carved out their niche in the thriving Midwest roots music scene with a hard-edged sound and a boisterous, brazen live show born out of their backgrounds in heavy, hard, and fast music. Certainly no “metal-grass” band, and far from bluegrass, Dig Deep keeps a foundation of solid songwriting at their core, combined with a deep appreciation for their roots and a thirst for fun, and builds from it a body of work that explores bold musical and literary territory with a power that belies their string band arrangements. Saddle of Southern Darkness draws equally from backwoods river bottom folklore, the dark, desperate, and weary reaches of classic country, the brutal attack of the hard music they cut their teeth on, and the grim truth of life on the road. Anchored by drums, upright bass, and acoustic guitar and accented with mandolin, steel, and electric guitar, Saddle of Southern Darkness delivers a sound that is as classic in its tone as it is bold in its delivery, and absolutely undeniable in its energy.
