Often people ask us «What is the „OT“ Circus»?
The «OT» in OT Circus stands for Occupational Therapy. The owner of OT Circus, Victoria VanDame, is an Occupational Therapist, and an integral pART of our gallery is utilized for OT's and the clients to come in and do arts and crafts at least once a month, if possible.
The OT Circus is a registered 501c3 recognized nonprofit that exists to connect the Occupational Therapy profession with the community of downtown Albuquerque to come together to create art, music, and friendships. We are excited to host our 1st annual fundraiser for the occupational therapy realm of our facility!
We believe communities are the primary social unit capable of progressive change. It is the vision of OT Circus to be a building block by working to empower and educate, and to support the Occupational Therapy profession by giving the clients an advocate, therapist, and educator to teach them the functional skills they need.
We are seeking to improve the quality of life of those with disabilities and in underserved communities by giving the opportunity and supplies for them to create artwork for profit.
Money raised from our First Friday Fundraiser will be used towards funding the specific needs of individual clients, including our art and physical therapy programs. A portion of the money will be paid to the clients directly as well.
Art created by the clients/patients, as well as works generously donated by several local artists will be up for silent auction during this event. We will be hosting a raffle throughout the evening as well, with tickets being $5 each! This fundraiser is for one night only, a part of the First Friday ArtwalkABQ on June 1 from 5-9p.
