Capoeria is an Afro-Brazilian art form that is part dance, part fight, part ritual, part game and a way of life. It also involves live music with traditional instruments. It comes from colonial era Brazil when African slaves disguised self defense in dance and play. Capoeira Girassol classes are offered at Maple Street Dance studio and focus mainly on the physical aspects of the game (jogo) but students will also learn the instruments, the songs and some of the history over time.Learn more about classes: http://abquca.com/
